For the first time in US history people are changing their thinking about cannabis as a legal substance for medical and recreational use. A new Gallup poll shows that across party lines 64% of people in the US support the use of cannabis and are for full legalization as of 2017 into 2018. This record turnout was shocking to some government officials, but cannabis enthusiast saw the forest through the trees on this one.

Now the focus needs to be on declassifying marijuana from a schedule 1 drug down to a 2 or 3. The way the law reads now cannabis is classified the same as heroin, no medical use what so ever and high risk for addiction and abuse. This is the reason that no insurance companies will cover MMJ treatments for patients. Gun laws are effected to, there is some really grey area around this issue because it is not legal to carry a gun in the commission of a felony and when you are in possession of a schedule 1 drug (automatic felony) then you cant legally have your gun on you. So these new Gallup poll numbers are really encouraging because we need full recreational legalization in Florida and nationwide.
